Ooooooh did we learn anything?

The long awaited day for Craig Thomson arrived with bells and whistles today, but did we really learn anything new? Thomson took 59 minutes to defend allegations and became emotional when it came to the media attention surrounding him and his family. He accused the Opposition leader of destroying democracy and being unfit to be Prime Minister, but did we learn anything about the allegations from the FWA report? Not really! He blamed other people and said shame on you to journalists, channel 7 and people at the HSU. He, along with the Deputy Prime Minister brought up the fact that Mr. Abbott is trying to undermine the separation of powers by making the legislative (otherwise known as the parliament) and the Judicary (or court system) not work independently and not let the courts be impartial looking at just the evidence provided. It was an explosive day in federal parliament and it just so happens that the PM in at a summit in Chicargo and just so happens to be away, saying to the press that she refuses to comment in events happening at home when she is 'half a world away'. . . It makes you wonder if it was done deliberately doesn't it? Anyway it looks as though tomorrow will be just as exciting as today, and so I shall continue to be enthralled and excited by the wacky world of Federal Politics in Australia.
